We had such a great time performing at this beautiful wedding ceremony at the Cecil Green Park house. It really is a lovely venue–all that wood really makes the string instruments sound amazing. Focused and clear but also with resonance and projection. When we arrived at the venue, we quickly set up and began to perform a selection of music as the guests arrived.

In speaking with Katie and Edward about the ceremony music they settles on the beautiful Pachelbel Canon for the bridesmaids walk down the aisle. This song is so romantic and was the perfect choice. Then for Katie’s Walk down the aisle we performed Can’t Help Falling in Love., which is also a classic in its own right. For the signing of the register, our violinist and cellist went back to classical selections with Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons–a great and seasonally appropriate selection for a winter wedding! Finally for the recessional as the couple exited, we performed an upbeat rendition of Felix Mendelssohn’s Wedding march. Truly magical!

Don’t forget that violin soloists regularly perform with a 50-100 piece orchestra, in a large hall seating 2000 or more people, and the solo violin can be heard over the entire orchestra, and at the very back of the concert hall. How? This comes down to the skill of the violinist, and positioning.
