Rebeca and Edwards’s wedding at Westdale United Church, Sunday September 30, 2012, violin and cello duo, Hamilton ON

“Wow! What can I say! You and your partner were amazing at our ceremony! Even though my bridesmaids got over zealous and walked in early to the wrong song, you guys made it work! I walked in to the exact right part of Canon in D that I asked for! Thank you so much for being flexible and so on the ball.
You both looked amazing and sounded even better. We have received lots of positive comments about your performance. We can't thank you enough!”
Rebeca and Ed

This was our first time performing at the Westdale United Church in a beautiful area of Hamilton. Rebeca and Ed’s wedding was straightforward with music at all the normal spots: processional, signing and recessional, and of course as the guests were arriving and exiting at the end of the ceremony. However, there was one twist that they arranged for—having us perform a different and extra song (Butterfly Waltz) as the grandparents were being seated and the groom and groomsmen walked I at the start of the ceremony. We were happy to oblige, as it is always fun and exciting when we can accommodate special requests, as our hard work helps to make the ceremony unique and special for the bride and groom, and memorable for the guests.

Deanne and Michael’s wedding at the Ancaster Old Mill, September 29, 2012, violin and cello duo, Ancaster, ON

It was nice to be back at the Ancaster Mill for this gorgeous wedding ceremony, held outdoors at the Mill. Our clients selected wonderful music to accompany and highlight different parts of their ceremony, and as this wedding took place outdoors near a babbling brook, the water also played an interesting part in creating lovely ambience and a sense of timelessness. Our violinist and cellist started performing as the guests were being seated 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony,. This gave guests some time to chat before sitting down and taking their places, prior to the start of the wedding. As the mothers walked up the aisle the strings performed Bach’s Arioso—a lovely way to start the event. As the bride approached we switched to Pachelbel canon for her walk down the aisle. After the vows and the kiss, the signing took place, and as the register was being signed by the couple, witnesses and officiant, our ensemble played Vivaldi Winter from the Four seasons. As the couple exited after being pronounced as husband and wife, Duo d’Amore performed Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary.

Wedding Ceremony Musicians Ottawa

Stephanie ad James has a classically beautiful wedding ceremony held at the outdoor ceremony site at the Orchard View wedding and conference center in Ottawa. Prior to the start of the ceremony our violinist and cellist performed a selection of light classical music as guests were taking and taking their seats. When it was time to start the ceremony, the string duo started with the first of the bride and grooms music choices: Bach Air. This music was performed as the bridesmaids walked down the aisle. For the bride, we played Pachelbel Canon in D. The signing of the marriage register was set to Vivaldi’s Winter from the four seasons—a popular choice that works well for shorter signings. The recessional was Charpentier’s Prelude from Te Deum and rounded out a wonderful ceremony.

Wedding String Duo Kitchener-Waterloo: Tori and Eric

Another amazing wedding at Hauser Hall! Our violin and cello duo performed for this morning wedding on September 29, 2012, and had a great time working with Eric and Tori, creating a wonderful grouping of wedding songs for their ceremony. The selections combined the elegance and sophistication of classical baroque music with more modern, more upbeat selections such as Arms of Love by Kutless and Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve.

First movement of the Cello Suite no 1 by Bach

Sleepers Awake by Bach

Ashley and Sean’s wedding at St Mary Immaculate Church, September 29, 2012, string trio, Richmond Hill, ON

Duo d’Amore’s string trio of violin, viola and cello performed for this wedding ceremony at St Mary Immaculate Church. As the ceremony was Catholic, our musicians were able to perform the great standards of the wedding repertoire and really fill the Church with the beautiful, full, expansive sound of the string instruments. After the prelude music, we performed Bach Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring for the five bridesmaids, switching to Pachelbel Canon, after the bridesmaids had taken their place at the front, and as the bride walked down the aisle for her processional. Signing music was very well chosen, as it was the classic Ave Maria. The recessional music is always bright lively and upbeat and for the is the couple walked out to Mendelssohn’s wedding March.

Amber and Ryan’s wedding ceremony at Triwood community center, Collingwood hall, September 29, 2012, string trio, Calgary AB

Amber and Ryan and a lovely wedding at the Triwood community center. They hired our string trio to perform a selection of classical baroque music for the major parts of the ceremony, and then added a modern song at the end, which is trending at the moment. (and it’s a great idea!). The Community center has a great space to perform in, and because of the wood ceiling and the concrete floors this created a very live acoustic for the musicians and of course the guests. Once again, Duo d’Amore was thrilled to be a part of such a gorgeous wedding ceremony. Congratulations Amber and Ryan.

Ben and Patrick’s wedding ceremony at Langdon Hall, September 29, 2012, violin and cello duo, Cambridge ON

Ben and Patrick’s wedding at Langdon Hall combined the historic and classical elegance of Langdon Hall with modern and contemporary wedding ceremony music. As guest were arriving our violinist and cellist performed a number o pop songs to set the mood for the ceremony. Ban and Patrick chose a variety of great music and the guests really appreciated hearing the string ensemble play something that was a bit out oft the ordinary. For the start of the ceremony, the grooms walked down to the theme from Gabriel’s Oboe by Enrico Morricone. This is a lovly touch and worked so well. The signing music was River Flows In You by Yiruma, and this was a little more relaxed and as the title suggests, it had a very nice flow to it. The recessional was more upbeat and changing from the more modern, was actually classical, and Handel’s Hornpipe from the Water music was a great choice to finish the ceremony—it is bright happy and has lots of energy. Congratulations!

Prelude:

Make You Feel My Love - Adele
I will Remember You - Sarah McLachlan
Hallelujah – Leonard Cohen
Halo – Beyonce

Processional: Gabriels Oboe, Theme- Morricone

Andrea and Brian’s wedding ceremony at U of T Trinity College Chapel, September 22, 2012, violin and cello duo, Toronto ON

“We've just returned from our Honeymoon. We wanted to write you much earlier as our wedding was on September 22 at Trinity Chapel. Having Duo d'Amore play at our wedding was simply brilliant!! I can't thank you enough as I've never heard a string duo sound so clear and melodic. "Sayuri's Theme" was spectacular. I've listened to that song countless times before, and on that day it never sounded so good. So many of our guests have complimented on how perfect the music was. Please give (the musicians) our warmest Thank You’s from Brian and I”. Andrea and Brian

As you can tell from the picture, this wedding was simply beautiful! We had a lovley time discussing and planning the music for the wedding ceremony with Andre and Brian, and this translated into a wonderful performance, with the bride and groom and everyone in attendance being extremely happy and satisfied. One unique thing about this ceremony was the couple’s choice to use Pachelbel’s Canon. Normally this song is performed during the processional, but I think this is the first time that our musicians have performed it during the signing! And guess what—it was fantastic!

Jacqueline and Scott’s wedding at the Galt Country Club, September 22, 2012, string trio, Cambridge ON

Our string duo trio and string quartet performs lots of different types of music at wedding ceremonies, from classical, to pop, fusion, the Beatles, and everything in between. While we enjoy the variety, sometimes it is wonderful to perform classic wedding music. This music is just perfectly suited to the different times in the ceremony, and we received many comments from the guests about our musicians beautiful performance.
