Oxana + Larry’s wedding ceremony and reception at the Oban Inn, May 16, 2015, violin and cello duo, Niagara on the Lake wedding music

May 16th was such a beautiful and sunny day—perfect for an outdoor spring wedding! The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Oban Inn in Niagara on the lake. The ceremony was held outdoors just in front of a lovely gazebo, surrounded by attractive manicured grounds. We arrived early (as always) and found a spot to park on a nearby street –and we didn’t mind the walk as we passed many stately and historic houses—some from the late 18th century! We immediately said hello to Meagan from Weddings Tied with Lace  (we always enjoy working with her) and setup our stands and the staff brought us two chairs. Soon enough, the guests began to arrive, and we started to play some light prelude music to help set the mood. When the officiant and groomsmen were at the front of the “aisle” signaling that the bridesmaids were in position, we started off the ceremony with a beautiful rendition of Pachelbel’s Canon. When all the bridesmaids have commenced their walk, we expertly switched to Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling in Love for the bridal processional. For the signing of the register the violinist and cellist changed back to classical music, with Bach’s Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, and ended the ceremony triumphantly with a fun version of Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. Just following the bride and Grooms exit, we continued to play for a few minutes, escorting the guests out of their seats with more music. At this point the guests made their way indoors for a cocktail reception, and we continued to perform for this portion of the day, all the way through dinner. We received many compliments, and were glad to participate in such  a beautiful wedding day!

Sheri and Stephen’s wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at Vineland Estates Winery, May 8 2015, solo violinist, Niagara Winery wedding music

This wedding was a surprise in many ways. What happens when you invite 20 of your best friends to a winery on a Friday afternoon? You have a surprise wedding, of course. That’s exactly what happened! For Duo d’Amore’s solo violinist there were other surprises, as the bride left all the music choices up to us as another surprise. Suffice it is say that w were surprised as well. The whole day was beautiful, with beautiful weather, a beautiful ceremony and of course, beautiful wedding music.  A special mention goes out to the wedding planner Megan at Weddings Tied with Lace, a she did a great job of coordination and planning, and also Vineland Estates Winery!

Megumi and Chris’ wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at Auberge du Pommier, April 25, 2015, violin and cello duo, Toronto wedding ceremony musicians

It is such a pleasure dealing with clients such enthusiastic and excited clients like Megumi and Chris. Their wedding ceremony was held on the exterior terrace of Auberge du Pommier, and they also booked Duo d’Amore’s most popular wedding ensemble the violin and cello duo for a cocktail reception just following the ceremony. This took place in the Sophie Room of the restaurant.  See photos of the day hereWhile everything was beautiful, and there were many memorable moments to share during the day, our passion lies with the music, and we were thrilled to perform the following selections:

Processional: Can’t Help Falling in Love-Elvis

Signing: Can you feel the love tonight from The Lion King

Recessional: A Thousand Years-Christina Perri

After the ceremony our violinist and cellist moved inside to the Sophie Room, and performed a fun and upbeat cocktail hour with interesting pop arrangements (Beatles etc, which the clients requested) with a sprinkling of classical as well.
