Wedding String Quartet Ottawa: Stephanie and Erik

A wonderfully harmonious chord was heard as the bride took the final steps up to the front of the aisle to greet her soon to be husband, as Duo d’Amore’s musicians finished playing Pachelbel’s Canon. The violinist and cellist picked up their instruments again to serenade the guests and during the signing of the register with Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons. Shortly after the officiant was proud t announce the bride and groom and introduce them for the first time as husband and wife. Amid clapping and cheering from guests we performed an equally exciting rendition of La Rejouissance from the Royal Fireworks by Handel.

Anna and Michael’s wedding ceremony at Ball’s Fall’s Conservation Area, violin and cello duo, August 31, Jordan ON

The week of August 31st and the beginning of September is always a busy time for Duo d’Amore, and it always brings with it interesting musical choice from clients. This week it seems that many of the processional songs that have been chosen are quite different and exciting. In this case it is a classical piece from the Opera, The Magic Flute by Mozart. With enlightenment themes of brotherhood, and the importance of a union between people, this is a natural and beautiful processional piece. It also sounds somewhat like O Canada!

Prelude: Bach Air on the G string and Charpentier Prelude from Te Deum
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen: Purcell Trumpet Tune Bride
Processional: Mozart: March of the Priests from the Magic Flute
Signing: Handel La Rejouissance from the Royal
Fireworks Recessional: Journey: Don't Stop Believing

Ceremony musicians: Duo d’Amore-string duos, trios and quartets

Jennifer and David’s wedding ceremony at Paletta Mansion, violin and cello duo, August 31, Burlington ON

Our string duo, string trio and quartet has performed at Paletta in tn the spring summer, fall and winter, but there is something special about performing outside on a day like today, where it’s not too windy, hot or sunny, in short—perfect weather for a wedding ceremony. We arrived very early to the venue, and were able to have a word with the wonderful wedding planner Anne from White Orchid weddings. We have worked together at a number of weddings in the past, and it is always nice to see her.

We performed quite a few songs prior to the start of the ceremony, and when the ceremony stated, it was with a little flower girl who came out of the door an down the aisle, which was cute and a nice and unique way for things to get going. For the processional of the attendants and the bride we performed a beautiful rendition of To Love you More, made famous by taro Hakase and Celine Dion. The signing was equally beautiful, and we performed A Thousand Years by Christina Perry. We were lucky to be able to play the song twice through, as on the second time playing the cellist switched from pizzicato (plucked) to arco (bowed) proving a nice contrast and a richer sound just as everyone came back to the centre after the signing. When the bride and groom were pronounced husband and wife, we performed Viva la Vida. It was absolutely stunning!

Processional (wedding party and bride): Celine Dion: Love you More
Signing: Christina Perry: 1000 years by Christina Perry
Recessional: Coldplay: Viva la Vida

Carly and Brendan’s wedding ceremony at Pitt Meadows Golf Club, violin and cello duo, August 30, Pitt Meadows BC

We really enjoyed working with Carly and Brendan, as there was a spirit of fun and excitement around their wedding, which seemed to be captured in the music for the wedding day. One thing that they decided upon that has worked well in the past is they let us pick part of the music as a surprise. For the songs they selected, they picked a great mix of upbeat pop and contemporary songs as well as a classical favorite that added a great touch to complete the ceremony. Congratulations.

Saeideh and Philip’s evening wedding ceremony at Chateau des Charmes Winery, violin and cello duo, August 25, Niagara-on-the-Lake

"Duo d'Amore played as a string duo at my sons wedding......I was so proud to have given this as a wedding gift to the happy couple......and what a perfect gift it was.....I truly cannot think of the ceremony without Duo d'Amore.....

The music was exceptional....so emotional & a delight to the ears.....not a dry eye in the house! Lol! Just what I had wanted...

They were so professional and discreet.....they slipped into the venue as quietly as they slipped out......both of the musicians were so in sync with one another that during the ceremony they played music during the quiet moments that we had not previously discussed.....they just knew when to start & when to stop......
One could certainly tell that this was not their first rodeo! Lol!

Our guests are still raving over the beautiful ceremony accompanied with this amazing duo! I would highly recommend Duo d'Amore to anyone who would like to take their event from nice to spectacular!Truly, money well spent with zero regrets.......I will definitely book Duo d'Amore for any future events!" Hope, mother of the groom

It is always nice performing at a new venue, and this was Duo d’Amore’s first time performing at a wedding ceremony at Chateau des Charmes in Niagara. This wedding was very nice, and had a relaxed atmosphere about it. Everyone enjoyed themselves!

Wedding String Ensemble Vaughan: Ariana and Patrick

Strains of Bach Air on the G String were heard as the final bridesmaid took her place, and we received a signal that the bride was next. We placed our bows on the strings and began the first bars of the very famous Pachelbel Canon, until the bride reached the front. Both of these classical pieces set the tone for the elegant ceremony. During the signing, we performed Enya’s Only Time, and then shifted to a much more modern and quick paced, exciting version of Bittersweet Symphony.

Karina and Matthew’s wedding ceremony at St Mark’s Anglican Church, violin and cello duo, August 24, Ottawa ON

As much as we enjoy performing outdoors for weddings in the summer, it is a real pleasure to perform indoors at church. The other pleasure of the day was helping to make Matthew and Karina’s wedding really special. During the prelude, we selected a number of mellow pieces of classical music, including Bach Air, which somehow has a light summer feel to it. For the attendants Duo d’Amore performed Pachelbel Canon, followed by a special arrangement of an interesting song requested by the bride and groom: Moments with Oliver, which they were thrilled to have performed by the violinist and cellist. The next piece that we performed was Meditation from the Opera Thaïs, by Massenet, and it provide a contrast with the brides processional. Rounding out the ceremony we performed Bach’s Jesu Joy.

Cavelle and Harry’s wedding ceremony at the Hotel Arts, violin and cello duo, August 23, Calgary AB

Our violin and cello duo had a great time performing for this wedding, as everything went smoothly and sounded beautiful. We started by performing the classic Pachelbel’s Canon for the wedding party and bride, continuing on to Bach-Gounod’s Ave Maria during the signing (a beautiful piece and ideal for the signing of the register) and finishing off with a well chosen and upbeat Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke.

Wedding ceremony string ensemble Vancouver Club

We first spoke with Crystal and Sid in March of 2013, and they emailed us for a quote for their wedding ceremony. After listening to our samples online and chatting with me they were very excited to book us for their day. Well, that day has come and gone, and the wedding was spectacular as often happens at the Vancouver Club.

The prelude started at 5pm, and we performed a mixture of classical and modern pop songs, including Henry Mancini’s Moon River and Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World. When the bridesmaids and everyone else in the 10 person wedding party were lined up and ready to walk down the aisle, our violinist and cellist performed a lovely and soft rendition of Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling in Love. For the bride’s processional we performed the popular A Thousand Years by Christina Perry. During the quiet moments in the signing, Lucky by Jason Mraz was played, followed by the more upbeat and celebratory Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve.
