Iva and Mike’s wedding ceremony at Our Lady of M Bistrica Church, violin and cello duo, May 25, Calgary AB

Our clients were married at a beautiful Croatian Church in Calgary, and chose their ceremony music to fit the different parts during the ceremony. We really enjoy performing Charpentier’s Prelude at wedding, as this was no exception, as our string ensemble played this piece of music during the bridesmaid’s processional. Once the bridesmaids got to the front of the church, we performed Pachelbel Canon.  One of our favorite pieces (though somewhat less popular than Jesu Joy is Bach’s other composition, Arioso, which we performed during communion. Rounding out the ceremony was Mendelssohn’s Wedding March.

Amber and Ryan’s wedding ceremony at Triwood community center, Collingwood hall, September 29, 2012, string trio, Calgary AB

Amber and Ryan and a lovely wedding at the Triwood community center. They hired our string trio to perform a selection of classical baroque music for the major parts of the ceremony, and then added a modern song at the end, which is trending at the moment. (and it’s a great idea!). The Community center has a great space to perform in, and because of the wood ceiling and the concrete floors this created a very live acoustic for the musicians and of course the guests. Once again, Duo d’Amore was thrilled to be a part of such a gorgeous wedding ceremony. Congratulations Amber and Ryan.

Processional (Bridesmaids) – Charpentier: Prelude from Te Deum
Processional (Bride) – Pachelbel: Canon in D
Signing – Vivaldi: Winter from the Four Seasons
Recessional – The Verve: Bittersweet Symphony

Kimber and Rob’s wedding ceremony and reception, September 8, 2012, violin and cello duo, Calgary

I just wanted to thank-you for the wonderful musicians you had for us at our wedding last Saturday. It was an incredible day! Thanks so much once again. Kimber, bride

This wedding just had so much packed into the ceremony—so many special details and gorgeous music. Duo d’Amore worked alongside trumpeter Al Muirhead and organist John Bouz, to perform a very classic wedding ceremony. With the organ and trumpet plus the strings, there was an amazing array of timbres, textures, dynamics—it was almost like the bride and groom had a whole orchestra at their disposal. Definitely a memorable ceremony! Following the ceremony, we went to the Calgary Golf and Country club where we performed a more upbeat selection of music during the cocktail reception.

Stefania and Matteo’s wedding ceremony at St Mary’s Cathedral, July 28, 2012, violin and cello duo, Calgary AB

Stefania and Matteo’s wedding ceremony was traditional, refined and absolutely gorgeous! The music as well fit the style and mod of the ceremony just perfectly. The long aisle walk for the bridesmaids was set of and heightened by Bach’s Air, which is both graceful and flowing. The brides music was Pachelbel’s Canon in D, a perennial favorite at weddings, and performed by our violinist and cellist in an interesting and continually varied style, this too was also very flowing and really made the brides walk up the aisle something that the bride, groom and guests will always remember. For the signing of the documents, our musicians returned to the music of Bach performing the sedate and comforting Arioso. When the priest pronounced the bride and groom, the newly married couple walked down the aisle as husband and wife to Handel’s rousing and boisterous La Rejouissance.
