Another fantastic review of Duo d’Amore

We performed at a beautiful winter wedding ceremony at the vineyard retreat today at Cave Springs Winery just outside of Jordan, ON. The weather was very nice—not too cold, and it was amazing to be in the retreat building in the winter. Typically Duo d’Amore performs at Cave Springs in the spring summer and fall for wedding ceremonies, and it is always a treat to perform in the winter, as the vineyard seems so serene and quiet, poised for the warmth of spring sunshine. Speaking of warmth, we were surprised to find a roaring fireplace in the retreat building as well as a number of new renovations such as the beautiful pendant glass lights hanging from the ceiling, not to mention the wooden beams that were added just a month ago.

“Great music provided for our wedding ceremony, thank you! Jennifer, bride
Although summer weddings are beautiful, it is always nice to perform at a winter wedding ceremony at Strathmere Inn. This was made even more special and classic by the classical music selections the couple chose for their ceremony. Starting with the maid of honor and flower girls and continuing on to the bridal entrance, the duo performed Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The signing was many people’s top choice: Bach-Gounod’s Ave Maria, and was followed by the sprightly Clarke Trumpet Voluntary. Our thanks and congratulations to the beautiful couple as well a Strathmere Inn, and the stunning photos by photographer Andrew Van Beek.

As I was checking my email yeasterday, I recieved quite a nice surprise: a beautiful review from clients from a wedding ceremony that took place at Ball's Falls Chapel in May 2013:
"Ester and Phil here, you may recall that your duo graced our wedding
ceremony this past May at Balls Falls. We wanted to thank both of you
for the fantastic job, in the aftermath of the ceremony we didn't
have a chance to catch you before you departed. The arrangement of
'Will the Night' was spot on and helped to make our ceremony a very
personal, touching experience whose soundtrack we will always
remember"
Thanks again, best of luck, we will certainly recommend you to others should the opportunity arise."
Thanks for such a nice email--we really enjoyed making your day special, and perforing at the beautiful and intimate Chapel at Ball's Falls Conservation area.

This was a wonderful event, and it’s always nice to perform for receptions such as theses especially around the holiday as there is so much excitement in the air. We performed a mix of classical music for the cocktail reception, and transitioned to more modern music for the dinner reception. We also had the honor of performing a great versin of Sweet Child of Mine for the first dance! Congratulations!

Even though we perform at wedding ceremonies every week, it is amazing that we have the great fortune of being able to be surprised and delighted after so many years of professional performance. This wedding held in the historic St Marks Church in Niagara on the Lake (built in 1792) was one of those marvelous ceremonies. For the prelude music as the guests were arriving and being seated, our violinist and cellist performed classical music. As there was also an organist at the wedding, we performed a few songs and switched with the organist so the guests could enjoy an interesting variety of music. For the ceremony, and the processional in particular, we performed one of the most difficult but at the same time unique and successful processionals. Our clients asked up to play a Disney medley. We performed Can you feel the love tonight for the beginning of the wedding and as the mothers walked down the aisle and lit the candles of the church. Next we faded into Tale As Old As Time from Beauty and the beast for the eight bridesmaids and also managed to include a beautiful rendition of You've Got A Friend in Me for the flower girls and ring bearer. For the bride we played When You Wish Upon A Star. It was truly a processional to be remembered. Even the officiant and organist were worried that it was not going to work. Based on our experience and knowledge of wedding ceremonies, we are happy to say that it worked exceptionally well. For the signing, we played a great version of A Thousand Years by Christina Perry. The organist performed a wonderful bright and up tempo piece for the recessional as the bide and groom walked out of the church as husband and wife.

"Please give a big Thank you to the violin and cello players who played such beautiful music for us. Their music certainly contributed to the success of our dinner.” Pat and Jim
Our violin and cello duo was hired to perform for a couple whose wedding ceremony took place last February, and were have a dinner party this past November. The clients were interested in having a variety of classical music performed as guests were taking their seats for dinner, and throughout the dinner. We often perform for events such as these, and it is always a pleasure which we look forward to.

"The music was beautiful, perfectly timed, and really was just the right addition to our ceremony. Thank you for making it so easy and well-coordinated!" Hilary and Joseph, bride and groom
The music choices for Hilary and Joseph’s wedding were excellent, and the couple really chose well. The duo chose a variety of classical music during the prelude as guests were chatting and taking their seats. For the processional, as Hilary had a very small wedding party (just 1 maid of honor) the short and cheerful Prelude from Te Deum by Charpentier was a natural fit. The signing music was Bach’s Sleepers Awake, which is actually a less common choice, but one of our favorites to play. The violin and cello each have distinct melodies that weave in and out while maintaining a great pulse. Switching to modern music for the recessional is always fun, and it brides the gap between the church ceremony and the reception to follow; for this section, our violinist and cellist performed Here Comes the Sun, for a beautiful and happy finale to the wedding ceremony.
