Alice and Geofrey Flores’ wedding ceremony at the Chapel of the Old Mill Toronto, violin and cello duo, September 6, Toronto ON

Our string duo loves performing at the Old Mill, one of our favorite, and certainly one of the most popular wedding venues in Toronto and the GTA, especially for our string musicians We performed at the Chapel, which is lovely and intimate, and were excited to perform a brand new recently completed song arrangement. As guests began to take their seats, we performed a selection of classical music to help create a nice mood, and them the guests know that the wedding would be starting shortly. For the processional, we performed a very beautiful violin and cello version of the Flower Duet from Lakme by Leo Delibes. This is to our knowledge the first violin and cello arrangement of this work and we were very excited to premiere it at this ceremony. The bride walked down to the Music of the Night from the Phantom of the Opera, which was also magical. The signing was the famous Wachet Auf, or Sleepers Awake, which was a nice classical piece for this part of the ceremony. Finally, Runaway by the Corrs was performed as the bride and groom walked their way back down the aisle. Prelude: Charpentier Prelude and other classical

“Thanks for being there doing an awesome job! Our guests and us were enjoying the music”

We work very hard to provide our clients with a wide range of interesting music to choose from, including classical, pop, fiddle tunes rock and everything in between, and it’s always nice when clients send us their selections for each part of the ceremony, such as the processional, signing, communion, offering, sand ceremony etc. But, its also nice when the clients leave the selections up to us, and that is exactly what happened with this ceremony at the Prince House, and it was excellent and a surprise for the couple.

Jacqueline and Marty’s wedding ceremony at Wesley United Church, violin and cello duo, September 1, Winona ON

This wedding took place in a beautiful country Church, that had stunning acoustics—the sound was warm and full and everyone had nice comments about our performance. It is also nice when clients can choose the music they want to hear and have it performed inside a church. The music to this ceremony was also classic and very elegant and we had a wonderful time performing it. While everything sounded spectacular A Thousand Years by Christina Perri played by the violinist and cellist was the highlight!

We perform many wedding at the carriage house of Vineland estates, and this was another beautiful example how great a wedding can be when the venue, officiant a, and musicians all know each other and have worked together in the past. The music selections for this wedding ceremony combined two classical pieces for the processional and recessional, with a modern piece sandwiched in the middle---what a great and unexpected contrast.

Hayley and Mark’s wedding ceremony at Piper’s Heath Golf Course, string trio, September 1, Milton ON

When brides or grooms to be contact Duo d’Amore to perform for their wedding ceremony, and especially when we begin to discuss the song selections for the wedding ceremony, the processional is typically the most important song choice to make. As the processional is when the bridesmaids and flower girls , ring bearer walk up the aisle prior o the brides entrance music, this is a very important part of the ceremony. Many clients treat this as an opportunity to highlight their own personal music tastes and ask for a contemporary or pop song for this important part of the wedding ceremony. In Hayley and Mark’s case, they chose the beautiful and touching Falling Slowly Theme which sounded fantastic. For the register signing, they chose the Theme from Up which I fun, and cheery. The recessional was the very appropriate I Think I Wanna Marry You, by Bruno Mars, all performed by our string wedding musicians.

A wonderfully harmonious chord was heard as the bride took the final steps up to the front of the aisle to greet her soon to be husband, as Duo d’Amore’s musicians finished playing Pachelbel’s Canon. The violinist and cellist picked up their instruments again to serenade the guests and during the signing of the register with Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons. Shortly after the officiant was proud t announce the bride and groom and introduce them for the first time as husband and wife. Amid clapping and cheering from guests we performed an equally exciting rendition of La Rejouissance from the Royal Fireworks by Handel.
