Collaborate with your special song

Looking for a personalized touch to your wedding or event? We specialize in creating custom musical arrangements for our string ensembles, tailored to your unique tastes and preferences. You choose a special song that holds significance for you and your loved one. Whether it’s a classic ballad, a modern pop hit, or a sentimental favourite, the choice is yours. Next, we collaborate with you to bring your musical vision to life. We can start from any point in the song and arrange it specifically for our string ensembles. This could be just a solo instrument such as a violin or cello. It could also be with our most popular ensemble the violin and cello duo, or a larger ensemble such as a string trio or string quartet. If you desire, we can even arrange the song for a singer to perform alongside our strings, creating a truly magical musical experience.

From the wedding ceremony to the reception and beyond

Here are some key momemts where you can insert a special song and performance as a highlight in your wedding day:

Ceremony Entrance: As guests arrive and take their seats, soothing background music sets a welcoming ambiance. The music crescendos as the bridal party enters, building anticipation for the bride’s grand entrance.

Bridal Processional: This is one of the most memorable moments of the ceremony. The bride’s walk down the aisle is often accompanied by a poignant piece of music that reflects the couple’s love story and sets the emotional tone for the ceremony.

Interludes: Musical interludes during the ceremony, such as during the lighting of candles or a unity ceremony, provide moments of reflection and can add depth to the proceedings.

Vows and Exchanging Rings: Soft instrumental music can play in the background. This is when the couple recites their vows and exchanges rings, adding a touch of romance to the moment. Great option for an acoustic performance.

Recessional: As the newlyweds make their joyful exit down the aisle, the recessional music signals the start of the celebration. Upbeat and triumphant pieces are often chosen to accompany this joyous moment.

Additional opportunities

Cocktail Hour: Following the ceremony, during the cocktail hour, lively and upbeat tunes create a festive atmosphere. A great time for a trio or quartet performance.

Reception Entrance: The grand entrance of the newly married couple into the reception is often accompanied by energetic music. A perfect time for something custom and unexpected.

First Dance: Perhaps the most iconic musical moment of the reception. The first dance allows the newlyweds to share a romantic moment together. The song chosen is typically significant to the couple and holds sentimental value.

Parent Dances: The dances between the newlyweds and their parents provide touching moments for families to share. Each dance is typically accompanied by a special song chosen by the respective parties.

Dinner Music: Soft background music during dinner sets a relaxed and elegant ambiance. This allows guests to enjoy their meals while still fostering conversation.

Other types of artistic collaborations in the wedding day

Floral Designers: Collaborating with floral designers can result in breathtaking floral arrangements. These include bouquets and centerpieces that complement the overall aesthetic of the wedding.

Stationery Designers: Working with stationery designers can result in beautifully crafted wedding invitations. Also programs, menus, and signage that reflect the couple’s style and theme.

Cake Designers: Collaborating with cake designers allows couples to create stunning wedding cakes that not only taste delicious but also serve as works of art. This also incorporates unique designs and personalized touches.

Photographers/Videographers: Partnering with photographers and videographers ensures that the special moments of the day are captured in a visually stunning and artistic manner, preserving memories for years to come.

Visual Artists: Collaborating with visual artists, such as painters or illustrators, can result in unique artwork created live during the wedding ceremony or reception. This provides guests with an interactive and memorable experience.

Calligraphers: Working with calligraphers can add a touch of elegance to wedding stationery, signage, and place cards, with beautifully hand-lettered designs that elevate the overall aesthetic.

Lighting Designers: Collaborating with lighting designers can transform the wedding venue with creative lighting setups. And this adds drama, ambiance, and visual interest to the space.

Fashion Designers: Partnering with fashion designers allows couples to create custom-designed wedding attire. This reflects their individual style and personality, resulting in truly unique and memorable looks.

Cake Toppers/Artisans: Collaborating with cake topper designers or artisans can result in personalized and whimsical cake toppers. These add a playful touch to the wedding cake.

Live Painters/Artists: Hiring live painters or artists to create artwork inspired by the wedding day allows couples to have a unique and personalized keepsake to cherish for years.

The solo violin

The smallest bowed string instrument in the violin family is the violin. It is also the quietest instrument, but that does not mean that it cannot produce a large sound. Don’t forget that violin soloists regularly perform with a 50-100 piece orchestra. This is in a large hall seating 2000 or more people, and the solo violin can be heard over the entire orchestra. How? This comes down to the skill of the violinist, and positioning. And this is why at wedding ceremonies for example we often are quite picky about the exact spot where our violinists and ensembles perform, no matter if the string ensemble is outdoors or indoors a single violinist is a great choice.

Duo d’Amore’s solo violinist is a great option for those who want live music but have a smaller budget. The solo violinist performs classical pieces, contemporary pieces, and a mix of both. Their music is perfect for wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and intimate dinners.

The solo cello

Like the solo violin, a solo cellist is a great option for slightly smaller wedding ceremonies and receptions. Larger than the violin, it is very resonant, and can play an equally wide range of music. Clients that hire the solo cello and solo violin for weddings and events often have a guest list of under 50, but not necessarily so.

The violin and cello duo

The violin and cello duo, or string duet, is one violin player and one cello player. And this is our most requested string ensemble for hire. As well, having both the violin, which is able to play soaring melodies, and the cello which is able to anchor and often accompany, while having an even larger sound it is no wonder that this is our most popular string ensemble. I like to imagine that the violin is like the right hand of the piano and the cello is the left had of the piano, together they can play almost anything, and that is another reason that it is our most popular ensembles.

Duo d’Amore’s violin and cello duo is a popular choice for weddings. The duo consists of a violinist and a cellist who play together, creating a beautiful, harmonious sound. The duo’s repertoire includes classical pieces, contemporary pieces, and a mix of both. Their music is perfect for wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and dinner parties.

The String Trio

The string trio is made up of the violin and cello, with the addition of a third instrument. And most often this is a violin or viola. We recommend this ensemble for 150-200 guests. Also, the string trio a great mid size ensemble that is an excellent option for an outdoor wedding or large church wedding.

The String Quartet

Our string quartet is the largest wedding ensemble that we have for hire. We often recommend the string quartet for large gatherings, receptions, weddings and events with 200 or more guests. The string quartet is one of our more versatile ensembles, as we can perform everything from Bach, Beethoven and Brahms in the classical spectrum, to pop, jazz, folk, Top40 and beyond.
