Duo d’Amore’s string ensembles have performed in many venues and under many circumstances: we have performed on beaches, on mountaintops, at both the atlantic and pacific coasts, on the prairies, at vineyards, on ships, on trains, but this weekend was a first for us–we performed amidst the smoke from wildfires at two different wedding ceremonies in and around Canmore AB. This certainly made for a unique and memorable experience, one that the bride and groom as well as the guests will remember for the rest of their lives. Tourism operators in the area haven’t agreed if the wildfires and smoke is having an impact on business, but judging from the fact that wedding ceremonies are still taking place, people are trying their best to go on despite and setbacks.
