Courtney and John’s wedding ceremony at St Marks Anglican Church, violin and cello duo, November 30, 2013, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON

Even though we perform at wedding ceremonies every week, it is amazing that we have the great fortune of being able to be surprised and delighted after so many years of professional performance. This wedding held in the historic St Marks Church in Niagara on the Lake (built in 1792) was one of those marvelous ceremonies. For the prelude music as the guests were arriving and being seated, our violinist and cellist performed classical music. As there was also an organist at the wedding, we performed a few songs and switched with the organist so the guests could enjoy an interesting variety of music. For the ceremony, and the processional in particular, we performed one of the most difficult but at the same time unique and successful processionals. Our clients asked up to play a Disney medley. We performed Can you feel the love tonight for the beginning of the wedding and as the mothers walked down the aisle and lit the candles of the church. Next we faded into Tale As Old As Time from Beauty and the beast for the eight bridesmaids and also managed to include a beautiful rendition of You’ve Got A Friend in Me for the flower girls and ring bearer. For the bride we played When You Wish Upon A Star. It was truly a processional to be remembered. Even the officiant and organist were worried that it was not going to work. Based on our experience and knowledge of wedding ceremonies, we are happy to say that it worked exceptionally well. For the signing, we played a great version of A Thousand Years by Christina Perry. The organist performed a wonderful bright and up tempo piece for the recessional as the bide and groom walked out of the church as husband and wife.
