Calgary Wedding Violinist Cellist Duo. Genevieve + Ralph’s wedding ceremony at Azuridge Estate, October 11, 2014. Genevieve was a true pleasure to talk with throughout the music planning process, and her ceremony was nothing short of fantastic. Music was bright, light and combined classical music which our violin and cello player performed for the prelude and processional (Pachelbel Canon). The groom and his parents walked into U2’s Beautiful Day and for the signing of the register we performed Fix You by Coldplay.
And it truly was a beautiful day. Originally the ceremony was supposed to be held inside at Azuridge Estate, but as the mercury climbed almost to 18C, the ceremony was moved outdoors, and we were happy to accommodate!

How many songs do you perform at a wedding ceremony?
We always feel that the more music, the better! Depending on what you would like and the type of wedding ceremony you are having, here is what we recommend for a ceremony?
Prelude (as guests arrive) 3-5 songs
Processional: 1 or 2 songs (1 song for both the wedding party and bride or 1 song for wedding party, another song for bride)
The wedding part and bridal party music can really be anything, but a contrast between the wedding party and bride is recommended.
Signing: 1 classical song, or 2 pop songs
The signing is the portion of the ceremony where the marriage documents are signed by the bride, groom, officiant and witnesses. Generally, slower more contemplative music is chosen for this portion.
Recessional: 1 song
This is the part of the ceremony where the bride and groom exit the venue, and upbeat, fun and exciting music really helps to create a festive mood.
Can you perform after the ceremony as well?
Yes, our ensembles can perform during the cocktail hour, the first dance, dinner etc.
