Lyndsay and Shawn’s wedding ceremony at Rockcliffe Park Pavilion, violin nd cello duo, September 20, 2013, Ottawa

We were quite exited to perform for this wedding ceremony at the very popular Pavilion at Rockcliffe Park. This wedding ceremony perfectly evoked the new attitude to wedding ceremony music, not just in Ottawa, but across the country. Because of the more inclusive and related rules of Churches and in this case officiant, brides and grooms can choose from a much wider ranger of music, to reflect not only the occasion or event, but themselves as a couple.

This wedding began in with very traditional music: Pachelbel canon for the bridesmaids, and attendants, followed by Wagner’s Bridal Chorus (here comes the bride). From the signing onwards, the theme shifted to a modern outlook, with A Thousand Years by Christina Perry and Viva la Vida by Coldplay, with many great and enthusiastic comments from the guests.

Processional: Pachelbel Canon in D
Bride:  Wagner Bridal Chorus

Recessional: Cold Play Viva La Vida

“I just wanted to thank you and your team for their performance Saturday. Michelle and I couldn't have hoped for it to have gone any better. Thank you so much, it was great!”  Justin & Michelle

Justin and Michelle hired the violin and cello duo to perform music for their ceremony in the Chapel of the Old Mill Toronto. Our string ensemble regularly performs in the Chapel of the Old Mill, and it is a beautiful intimate space to perform which is made even more special as performing at a wedding is always filled with so much joy and excitement—it’s great to be a part of that.

The prelude was started with solo Bach—perhaps the most elegant way to warm up the room, so to speak—this music is a great idea a guests arrive and are seated, Following several additional classical pieces, the string duo performed a great version of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, which was an exciting twist and surprise following the classical music during as the bride walked down the aisle! The signing moved back to the classical realm with Bach’s Jesu Joy of Man’s desiring. As the couple triumphantly exited our violinist and cellist performed the popular first movement from Vivaldi’s Autumn.
